Creating good quality content is of utmost importance to show your viewers what your business is all about. Many business owners struggle with finding their theme and creating content that reflects their company and the values they hold. Unfortunately, when content gets lost in translation it leaves viewers feeling lost and untrusting of the content provider. This is why we are here to help!
To start off with, researching what type of audience you want to target is crucial. If you don’t know what type of audience you will be producing content for, you will have no idea what theme to adopt. If you have a demographic in mind, try to pinpoint certain attitudes, beliefs, and interests. It is important to note that unfortunately, this is a trial-and-error step. You will get to see what works and what doesn’t by posting and evaluating the feedback you get through interaction and engagement but do try to have a rough concept in mind of who will be viewing the content.
You need to also align your business goals to the marketing strategy you have in place. What does this mean exactly? Well, the objectives that you have, need to be reachable and correlate with your marketing plan. The SMART goal model can really help put this in place. Each letter of the acronym stands for a different point to keep in mind when harmonizing your business plan and marketing strategy.
Specific= This means that your goals and objectives are specific and not vague. Having clear goals will help you when coming up with solutions on how to achieve them.
Measurable= Set up a target and establish how to measure your progress. This will keep you on track.
Attainable= Make sure that the goals and objectives set in place are actually reasonable and not extreme.
Relevant= Your objectives should revolve around the values you hold for your business, while also keeping in mind the long-term goals you have for the future.
Time-based= Set a time limit that is realistic to give yourself a deadline of when these goals should be achieved by.
Keeping in mind these points will help you start out your vision when looking into the content you would like to produce.
