Finding time to be productive isn’t easy especially when the time you need to find involves being not only productive but creative. Creating content and coming up with business ideas and strategies involves the creative side of your brain which as you may know isn’t always active and ready to go. How can you maximize your creative time?
1) Figure out your time.
You will definitely have a certain time of day that you will feel more creative. Whether this is at the beginning of the day before all the stresses of business build-up or at the end of the workday when you’ve sorted most stuff out so you feel more relaxed and freer. The time of the day doesn’t matter as long as it works for you. Once you find it, avoid using this time for other business tasks like meetings or errands. block them out in your calendar, to ensure that you have them there for when you need them.
2) Don’t force it!
So you’ve figured out the time of day, where you are in tune with your creative side and are productive. Great! But and here’s that ugly but that always comes, you won’t always feel creative so don’t force it. If you are sitting there in the allocated creative time and you are totally dry from ideas, don’t force it as otherwise, you’ll just create mediocre content.
3) Breaks are important!
It is easy to get carried away with work and you’ll end up feeling totally burned out after a session so schedule breaks. Having planned breaks also gives you something to look forward to and helps reduce having excessive breaks leading to zero work actually being done.
4) Distractions!
Creative time is the easiest time to be disrupted by other tasks that you may deem as more important but probably aren’t. Emails and messages are your greatest enemy at this time so have a time in your day where you specifically just reply to emails and messages if need be twice a day but after those allotted times your inbox is off-limits.
