We have discussed the value of videos that can enhance your business page or social media account. If you didn’t get to read it, the link has been left below for your convenience. Today we are going to go into some key elements to making your video successful on social media platforms.
When creating a business video, it is of utmost importance to keep the type of platform you will be uploading it to in mind. If you will be using Tik Tok or Instagram you’ll have a younger audience watching so try to aim it at them. Whereas Facebook has a broader audience and this goes for Twitter too.
You need to tailor the video for the platform and the users of the site. For example, what may work very well on Tik Tok wouldn’t look right on LinkedIn as this site is very professional. Apart from the audience, it is a good idea to keep in mind the platform you’ll be uploading to and the format of the video. For Facebook wall, a landscape video would probably look good but for Instagram stories, a portrait format will look better.
Keep in mind the length. In today’s world we are all pretty busy and rarely have the time to watch long videos on social media especially if they don’t attract our attention. A shorter video will more likely be watched and it is a good idea to have the most important things at the beginning of the video to grab the attention of the viewer. Also, keep in mind that the length of story videos is usually seconds so longer videos won’t be suitable whereas Instagram IGTV can be as long as 60 minutes.
The last thing we want to mention is sound. Now you may be thinking, having good sound is obvious, we aren’t actually talking about the quality of the sound. Many social media users scroll platforms when they are out in public. They could be traveling from or to work, on their lunch break, or sitting at a cafe, wherever they are they may not have headphones and thus they will watch videos with no sound. In fact, some users have got so used to this that even when they are away from the public, they will still watch videos without sound. So, if you want your video to still appeal to this large chunk of the audience think about adding subtitles or messages on the screen throughout the video. A good thing to do is to watch the video without sound before unloading it. Is it still engaging? If not, be prepared to lose some viewers.
We wish you luck with your video creations and hope these key elements help you!
